Silver Spring resident Devin Jones, 34, is facing charges for two recent home invasions where he exposed himself to one woman, attempted to sexually assault another, and detectives believe there could be more victims.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, officers were called to the 3700 block of Greencastle Road, where an 88-year-old woman reported that a man forced his way into her home.
It is alleged that Jones assaulted and attempted to sexually assault the homeowner before stealing a personal item and fleeing.
Two days later, detectives responded to a second incident in the 1500 block of November Circle shortly after 2 a.m., when a 77-year-old woman advised a man entered her bedroom and exposed himself.
Investigators say that the woman fought back, and attempted to call the police, but the man took her phone before leaving.
Jones was ultimately identified as a suspect in both home invasions, and he was arrested and found to be in possession of items that had been stolen from both victims.
Jones was charged with:
- Home invasion;
- Attempted first-degree rape;
- First-degree assault;
- Indecent exposure;
- Second-degree assault;
- Theft.
Detectives are still investigating additional burglaries that may be linked to Jones. The probe is ongoing.
